We took a short vacation and missed a lot of upsets in the LCS and now the league has been a bit shaken up. Going into week 7 we see C9 and TL tied for first and Dignitas on a 3 game win streak! Not only that we missed a few roster swaps so the predictions this week may be a bit difficult. If you are new to the LCS make sure to check out our Tournament page here and make sure to read below for more information regarding the Match and Bet of the Week! The Match of the week sees Cloud9 face off against Team Liquid on Sunday. If both teams manage to win their games earlier in the week then this will give us a definitive 1st place team heading into week 8 and the implications are huge. If C9 win, then maybe they just had a hiccup in some draft experimentation. If TL win however, then there’s quite the chance that C9 have lost some of their touch. Either way these are the top two teams in NA right now and their match can’t be ignored. Counter Logic Gaming win - Loot.Bet - 2.09 To be fair, Rivalry have edged out Loot.Bet in the best odds this time around at 2.10, but we already featured Rivalry in our LCK preview this week, and the odds are so close, why not give Loot.Bet some love as well? Overall, CLG vs 100 Thieves is a bit of a toss up, everyone is still doubting CLG and 100T have found some synergy after their recent roster swaps. The fact of the matter is that a toss up is usually a lot closer in head to head odds, so when you see odds like this in a match that arguably is CLG favored, you have to take it. Let's get into the matches this week. We start the week off with a rather straightforward match. EG are heavily favored here and for good reasons, Immortals have a chance to get out of the tie for last place this week but if they fumble it here then they certainly won't find a win this week. I say fumble but realistically EG have the ball and they’re already 14 points ahead of IMT. That being said EG do have an easier week than some of the other teams do and that could see them rise in the standings to tie for 3rd or even take it if all goes according to plan, which it seems it never does for Evil Geniuses. This could turn out to be a really gut wrenching game for TL. They are on this meteoric rise after their absolute downward spiral of a Split in Spring and have surpassed their win count already with a few weeks still to be played. On the other side of things FLY aren’t having the best of times, but not the worst of times either. TL should walk away limping in this one ready to stare down Cloud 9 later on in the week. Our Bet of the Week sees two teams separated by 1 game in the table face off. CLG are out in front and 100T could by all means take this game. I would argue that they are not in fact favorites though, with Ryoma’s shakey performances and a Bot Lane with an already proven, but still rookie support on the squad. The key differences here will be Ruin vs Ssumday in the Top Lane and Pobelter vs Ryoma in the Mid Lane. place your bets and keep your eyes on this one, as I think it’s going to be a bit more exciting than others do. TSM have been struggling to keep up with TL and C9 but they find themselves near the top anyway, and DIG have found a nice clutch of wins to keep their dreams alive but this is a much more important match for them than it is for the rest of the standings. TSM winning here could be the difference between fighting for second or fighting for fourth. TSM should win as they have the better talent lane to lane but DIG are a feisty group that are proving they can’t be slept on. Golden Guardians have been a bit quiet this Split, no flashy plays, no major upsets other than FLY a few weeks back. Oh, I suppose that is this match again. The fact of the matter is only one of these teams is experimenting with their roster and both find themselves at 6-6 going into this week. We may all be leaning towards GG to win this one but the best FlyQuest is just better than the best Golden Guardians. Yeah okay, C9 aren’t doing that bad and IMT aren’t doing that good so this should be a really simple stomp for C9 after a couple disappointing losses. Really they were experimenting with different playstyles and their losses aren’t nearly as important as IMT’s wins so there's no reason to get excited about the new and improved Immortals roster yet. Similarly to EG’s other game this week there is a slight chance that they get upset, but they would have to make a lot of mistakes to falter here. I can see a lot happening with Eg’s Mid Lane here but Goldenglue is done losing his spot and as long as he starts, I'm certain he will crush Froggen. Everyone else on EG are just statistically better than DIG with maybe the exception of Aphromoo and Zeyzal, but this match will probably tell the story better than I can. Our Match of the week features the top two teams in the region at the moment and the last time these two teams met it looked like quite the skill disparity between the two teams in favor of Cloud9. I'm expecting C9 to slip back into a more comfortable play style to help secure their First place spot but there is a chance they want to continue attempting to expand their strategy pool a bit, and what better time to do it than right before playoffs? TL on the other hand will be looking to play their standard game to help ensure they can once again claim that top spot in the league. C9 are favored here, but we all know how Reapered likes to draft in the clutch. We had El’ Clasico just a few weeks ago but the hype is even stronger this time around. It seems the broadcast crew saw my last article about how I may be the only one still reveling in this matchup as they drew a lot more attention to it than they have in recent memory. Of course, we can all hear the TSM chants from our neighbors house already as they really shouldn’t lose to CLG in this one. This is probably the most even match of the week truth be told. The bookies agree and I'm sure the analyst desk will be pretty split on Sunday. More than likely we will be able to tell once both teams have already played their first game this week who should win this one but it really is hard to say. So let’s say Golden Guardians win it, they’re higher in the standings and will have played a harder match than 100T this week. Sometimes you just have to pick the favorite.
