The story of Kanavi
Kanavi has made his name known tho whole world despite drama around Griffin and his contract.
There remain only 3 weeks of the LCS Regular Season left for this split and honestly, all of the playoff slots are up for grabs except for the one Cloud9 clinched last week. As we approach the end of the season each match becomes more valuable to teams since we are probably going to have a lot of tie breaker matches come week 9. If you missed anything from last week make sure to check out our week 6 Review here, and if you are new to the LCS make sure to check out our Tournament page. TSM is struggling too much and experimenting too much to get behind in this one. They come in as big underdogs despite being tied for 3rd in the standings. There exists a world where Broken Blade isn’t inting every game and where the TSM draft makes sense, but it isn't this one. Cloud9 win rather comfortably, maybe Licorice even gets to flex a bit and really gun for that player of the week award. Two of our teams at 5-7 start off the weekend to help attempt to spread out the table a bit. Considering the 5-7 teams are tied for 6th place currently, these matches count a lot towards playoff positioning. Coming into one of the most even matches of the week we have to take a look at last week, 100T took a 1-1 where they looked great in one game and very, very bad in the other. DIG wasn’t able to secure a victory, but they faced the current top two teams in C9 and FlyQuest. Last time out, Dignitas were able to take the win against the 100T squad and with the newly announced roster swap in the jungle, Grig stepping down for Akaadian, there’s no reason to believe they won't win again. Both squads are struggling as it is and a loss here may ruin their split hopes, and something tells me Huni and co. won’t take this one lying down. It was said that Doublelift will continue to sit out and I think against the likes of CLG, that should be okay. If TL win here they have a chance to assert themselves as the solo 3rd place spot depending on how Immortals do in their matches this week. Pobelter’s CLG does look a whole hell of a lot better than Crown’s CLG and if Tactical’s week 6 surprise victories were the fluke I think they were, CLG may very well upset here. All things considered though, TL should be the favorites and I consider them to be the ones coming out on top in this one. The EG squad has been lacking coordination the whole split, FlyQuest have only ever been coordinated and that should be the determining factor as to who wins this one. FlyQuest have been the better team all around and as of right now, are the second place team, they may not be able to challenge Cloud9 but they certainly can’t be challenged by a 5-7 team. Coming into this week, we have to take our favorites where we can find them and Immortals should be the favorites here. It burns my tongue when I say it as an 0-2 week for the Thieves doesn’t sound right, and an Immortals win doesn’t feel right. At the end of the day though they have shown themselves to be the better team, and while they falter where they shouldn’t, that won’t happen in this game. The more I look at this series, the more it feels like an upset. I’m not advising that this game will be #TSMWIN but that’s where my prediction goes for this one. I’ve been burned by TSM too many times to count but, here’s where they have a chance to rally before easier opponents next week in Immortals and Golden Guardians. Looking at the match I still see Broken Blade as a weak spot but really, Bjergsen and Dardoch are a lot scarier than POE and Santorin. As long as the TSM Bot lane shows up for this one then I don’t see why this game wouldn’t be closer than it may appear at first. When these two teams faced off the last time, DIG didn’t do so well, when this game starts DIG will either be a game ahead or a game behind Golden Guardians and that should be pretty telling as to who will win this one. Another close to call match but if we bet for DIG to beat 100T then DIG should also win here as 100T beat out GG. Then again, GG beat Immortals earlier this split and who can really say with this one. With Akaadian stepping in for Grig the DIG squad should look more solid and take this one. All I’m saying is, half of CLG’s wins are against Evil Geniuses, and they’ve gotten a Mid laner that actually cares about the game. It may be a hot take, but CLG win this one in style, better draft, better macro, better players. This is a bit of a spicy match. It will either be the game that puts Immortals in a top 3 in the standing, or knocks them down a peg to secure TL their 3rd place spot. Probably the most important match of the week if the two teams match either a win or a loss the previous days. Immortals won last time around and honestly, Team Liquid has improved a lot more than IMT so my definitive prediction is TL for this match. Another one of those cut and dry predictions that we didn’t get much of this week. Cloud9 are looking like the most dominant team to ever play the regular season thus far, and while this could arguably be the best that GG has ever looked, it isn’t anywhere near the same level as what C9 are playing at. GG are going to have to make their argument elsewhere in the coming weeks. With all that being said, we just evened out our predictions at 30-30 and with a series of matches as close as these look to be, there is a good chance we go negative again. Maybe our high from last weeks 7-3 got to our head a little bit but then again, maybe it just made us wiser? Make sure to come back for our Week 7 Review, and Week 8 Preview!
