Week two of the 2020 LCS Spring Split is complete and we now have some solid standing and can more accurately gauge where teams are in relative strength. C9 remains undefeated while CLG can’t seem to find a win. Let’s go over the standings and for more information regarding the tournament check out our event page here and check back for our weekly reviews and previews in the future! Remaining undefeated after facing Immortals and 100T. Their average game time took a hit with both matches going over 30 minutes, but their domination continues just as Licorice dying first on his team does. They managed to lock down just about every first objective and both Souls. Sitting at 4-0 the team has a one game lead over 2nd place teams, a nice spot to be at going into week 3. Losing to TL the way they did was sure to hurt, less trees planted, will have to face TL with Broxah in the second round robin, it just hurts a little bit. Against Dignitas though they were able to rally and now tie break DIG for second place at one game under 1st and one game above 4th. Unlike FLY, DIG were able to find a win over TL this week which helps put their mind at ease moving forward. That is, until they faced FLY and lost a lot of their momentum. They played well in both games but the difference was night and day when it comes to mistakes. Grigs only notable achievement against FLY was ulting Santorin out of the Baron pit so Froggen could steal it just before they lost the game anyway. Huni tilted in his matchup which is another problem the team needs to worry about. We find a lot of teams here that we really aren’t used to. 100T last year would have been sitting lower and this year we may have thought more highly of them, but they find themselves at 2-2 after losing to C9 and trumping CLG. They have fixed some of their mid game issues but ultimately are now struggling in the early and mid game which can be worrisome moving on to next week. Some of us may have expected a rough start for the squad with the lack of their EU Jungler, but they managed to pull off a win against a troubling Dignitas and managed to lose to FLY. Maybe it's impressive they have managed to win half their games so far, but it may just as well be expected. This squad has seemed really slow to start out their games but by the end of it they have the experience to close out. That is, until they play against Cloud9 who pretty much dominated the game from beginning to end. I expect this team to drop in value a bit more before the second round robin where teams will seriously have to consider their choices in the first. TSM finally had a great showing against Evil Geniuses and CLG. Their games are going on just a tad too long compared to the rest of the league but a 2-0 week to even up their scoreline has got to be a relief for the squad. A few more draft tweaks and some extra comfort on the squad would propel this roster to where it looks like it should be. Dardoch had a rough Qiyana matchup but he still held his own. GG found a win this week which everyone but EG enjoyed watching. They really should have won their match against IMT but ultimately their Bot Lane failed them through and through. Goldenglue plays Leblanc once again which is a bit concerning for the roster, without much flexibility we will probably see more of the same coming from them. The only win this team has found was against 100T in week 1, this week they lost to both GG and TSM which goes a long way in showing the problems this roster is having. They more than likely will connect better moving forward though and if not, put this roster down as one of the worst star studded rosters to ever exist. CLG has fallen to 0-4 which means it can only go up from here. People are arguing that Crown has no support as well as that he is barely trying to get out of the fountain. Too many problems to really even understand. I don’t think anybody expected this team to fall so far and hopefully they can figure it out, if not though, I can think of a few players on that team that won't be returning next year if not next split. The split is going on to its third week already and we have a bunch of key matches coming up. Make sure to check out our week three predictions and tune in to the LCS to watch the matches live! If you missed any of the games from week two, make sure to watch the DIG vs TL game for some high quality League of Legends and maybe skip the FLY vs DIG game, or watch them both to see the ceiling and the floor of this Dignitas squad.
