The story of Kanavi
Kanavi has made his name known tho whole world despite drama around Griffin and his contract.
The 7th week of spring brought us nothing but confusion and turmoil. Predictions everywhere crumbled as C9 lost their first match and 100T had a 2-0 week. It was a pretty eventful week so get ready for it! If you missed any of the games from last week make sure to check out our Week 6 Review and if you’re new to the LCS checkout our Tournament page here! Up first this week we had the upset of the Split come from TSM. TSM was able to lock down Licorice in the Top lane and kept the hurt coming, this snowballed into eventually Broken Blade taking over the game and TSM outperforming C9 on a macro level. The whole TSM squad were on a different level this game and made a strong statement with this win. One of the closest fixtures of the weekend and it just so happened to go the way of the Thieves. Overall, DIG didn’t really appear to show up on the day and for Froggen this was a pretty tough weekend. Akaadian couldn’t bring DIG to a win and all of 100T wanted a good weekend. In truth, Dignitas let this one slip away from them as they let go of a 4k gold lead and Dragon Soul lead to die in a random teamfight Mid lane. The Second biggest upset this weekend was CLG and Wind taking a victory here. Broxah has really underperformed for the squad but Tactical’s true colors showed through this week. After this match Doublelift was put back in for Monday’s game against Immortals, but more on that later. CLG and Pobelter are looking better and every win is crucial as long as they continue to do so. Evil Geniuses join 100 Thieves in the 2-0 club this week, but for them it started against the second place team in FlyQuest. FlyQuest were probably the biggest losers this week in their 0-2 as they had looked so strong previously, but this week just looked sub optimal at best. Santorin and Viper let POE and Ignar down a little bit but I’m sure they’ll pick themselves up next week. This was one of those 100T games that can be chalked up to Ssumday being Ssumday. The Top laner went 4/0/1 on Aatrox and really locked down Immortals in every skirmish they had. Not necessarily the best way to win their second match this week but nevertheless a welcome win for the 100T 2-0. Immortals looked just a little too disjointed here, not too many deaths but no real fights over objectives that mattered. After this TSM victory they managed to lock themselves in as tied for 2nd place with FLY and no it looks like we have a real top 3 moving forward. There are 3 teams only 1 game away but for now they’re locked in. Dardoch seems to have really found his home, and TSM are loving it. This weeks TSM took on the first and second place teams and went 2-0 and if that isn’t a big enough statement for the squad I don't know what is. Another painful prediction was GG taking this one. DIG as of late really hasn’t deserved the faith we have put in them to win games and after this one, I don’t think I can keep making the argument for them. GG did really well to take this game and are still very capable of sneaking a playoff spot, give Huhi one more week and i’m sure they can pull it off. I knew CLG would find a win this week, I even thought they could go 2-0, but they were cut short by EG which came as a surprise to me, the two teams are really similar in my opinion as far as they have looked compared to their ability. At this point CLG are almost completely out of the playoff contention, they have to pretty much win out and hope DIG don’t pick up too many more wins. Immortals would have been considered lucky to win this one but the entirety of Liquid failed to show up on the day. Everyone is holding on still for the TL of last year to show up, but Immortals couldn’t be happier. sOAZ was my player of the match for this game and I think if he hadn't played so well then TL would be on a real upswing after this one. C9 don’t like losing, and they chose not to in this one. Goldenglue’s “Drive” episode was rather emotional and inspiring but it wasn’t enough to take the game over his old team. The early game that plagued C9 against TSM was nowhere to be found in this match, but I’m still hopeful for this GG squad to find a playoff spot. Evil Geniuses and 100 Thieves shoot up in the standing with 2-0 weeks while Team Liquid and Dignitas fall with 0-2 weeks. The playoff race is a little more clear but is still far from decided so make sure to check back here for weekly updates as the tournament progresses. LCS Spring 2020 Week 7 Review
