#HSH Week 8: Group D Preview
The last group of #HomeSweetHomes final week is upon us and as always we preview the teams. AGF Esport, Complexity Gaming, Hard Legion ...
#HomeSweetHome is back with another week of play and the fifth iteration sees a whole lot of new teams! As per usual we will analyse the teams and make our predictions, starting today with group A. AGO, Hard Legion Esports, Salamander Gaming and SMASH Esports will fight it out for the two spot to the playoffs and a chance at the total of $40,000 that gets awarded weekly. All teams have participated in #HomeSweetHome earlier, but all of them aim to reach further than they have before. If you want to read more about #HomeSweetHome and the tournament as a whole head over to our event page! AGO has participated in #HomeSweetHome twice before and the results have not been what the Polish squad has hoped for. One departure in groups and another beating in a quarterfinal is not an acceptable result. Aside from #HomeSweetHome it has not looked much better and there’s mostly losses on the teams scoresheet. Furlan and GruBy are the cornerstones of this team and even if they usually deliver respectable performances it is never enough and they can’t get the rest of the team to work as a unit. Group A is also a very tough one on paper as all team are showing good form. All of that said we simply can’t find a logical way for AGO to move forward and sadly for them another failure in #HomeSweetHome is what we expect. Hard Legion has played once in #HomeSweetHome before, which was the previous week and they proceeded all the way to the semifinal, but had to withdraw due to other commitments. If not for that they had an excellent chance to reach the final as Team Secret would have been their opponent. Besides their successful run in #HomeSweetHome the team has impressed everybody in ESL One: Road to Rio CIS, where they gathered wins against teams such as Virtus.Pro and Natus Vincere. Igor “Forester” Bezotecheskiy and Vladislav “Krad” Kravchenko are two huge talents in Hard Legion and when they have a good day the team looks fantastic. Group A might be a tough one, but with their current form Hard Legion should get through and in the playoffs they have all chances in the world to win it all, that’s just how good they are playing right now. Looking at the expectations Salamander had coming into #HomeSweetHome in weeks 3&4, they have smashed them by a mile. Wins against forZe, AGO and Ambush are good, but sadly they could not get further than a quarterfinal, which was in the previous week. With that said the team is looking better and better. This week it will most definitely be tough due to the group draw and the opening game against AGO is a must win for the Hungarians. Even if they manage a win there, which we believe they will, it will be really complicated as both Hard Legion and SMASH are high level opponents. SMASH is one of few teams who have participated in all weeks of #HomeSweetHome and they have done it by constantly improving, even though the previous week ended in the quarters. It’s still clear the potential in the team is big and both of the Estonian players fejtZ and shokz are looking great. We believe that SMASH will once again reach the playoffs, even if it will be a tough one this time around, especially with facing Hard Legion already in the opener. In the playoffs the team has the potential to go far, but unfortunately this far their track record is not great. Maybe it’s finally time for SMASH to get the whole package together? We believe it might be the case. If you wish to read about the latest news from us and from the esports world make sure to check out our Twitter!
