#HSH Week 8: Group D Preview
The last group of #HomeSweetHomes final week is upon us and as always we preview the teams. AGF Esport, Complexity Gaming, Hard Legion ...
#HomeSweetHome has reached its second week of play and today group C will play out. As per usual we will analyse the teams and make our predictions. AGO, BIG, Team Singularity and SMASH Esports will fight it out in Group C for the two spot to the playoffs and a chance at the total of $40,000 that gets awarded weekly. If you want to read more about #HomeSweetHome and the tournament as a whole head over to our event page! AGO had a disappointing first week in #HomeSweetHome where they won their opening game after triple overtime against Endpoint, just to lose two straight bo3’s with 0-2. Being slotted in one of the weakest groups where they battled with SKADE, Endpoint and Singularity makes missing playoffs an inexcusable performance. The Polish squad can call themselves lucky to once again have ended up in a group that on paper is rather modest. BIG is without a doubt one of the best teams in #HomeSweetHome, but Singularity and SMASH should be both be teams AGO can beat. The opening game against SMASH could be a deciding factor and honestly chances are big AGO might fumble this time around as well and a top two spot in this group is not as clear as it might look at a first glance. The team as a whole needs to improve from last week to even dream of a playoff spot here. The reigning champ of #HomeSweetHome comes to the second week as a favorite for obvious reasons, but it’s worth mentioning how dominant the team was to win it all last week. 9-1 in total maps and most of the wins being completely one sided with especially XANTARES, tabseN and syrsoN performing on their top level made things look very easy for BIG. Anything but a group win here would be a massive upset and there should be close to no chance for that happening. In the opening game BIG will face, honestly, one of the worst teams in #HomeSweetHome in Singularity and when they on top of that has a roster change to battle with things couldn’t look any easier for the week 1 champions. Singularity had a tough first week in #HomeSweetHome as they lost two straight games and since then Jonas “Queenix” Dideriksen has left the team for Copenhagen Flames. With that said things look dire for Singularity coming in to the second week and especially since BIG awaits in the first game. It’s almost for certain the Danes will get knocked down to the elimination game, where SMASH or AGO would be the opponent and being realistic there chances there aren’t great either. Yesterday we saw Nordavind go on a great run to win their group after being a huge underdog, and maybe Singularity can get some inspiration from their run, but if we are being honest here - Singularity is in for another beating this week in #HomeSweetHome. SMASH comes to the second week of #HomeSweetHome with a player change in their lineup as Sebastian "NEEX" Trela is not listed for the team and instead Kristjan “shokz” Jakobson will take his place. It definitely ain’t optimal, but to be fair SMASH had a decent showing last week as they beat Team Spirit in the opener and took one map of them in the decider. It wasn’t enough that time around, but this week the group looks easier and it’s likely we will see SMASH play a bo3 against AGO and/or Singularity for their life, which gives the team a fair chance, make no mistake though - that's purely based on the weakness of the others, not the strength of SMASH.
