#HSH Week 8: Group D Preview

The seventh week of #HomeSweetHome is underway and today it’s time for group B to enter the action! The group is a stacked one where the underdogs FATE Esports will have to face off against two time finalist SMASH Esports, hopeful Hard Legion Esports and c0ntact Gaming who is looking to avenge themselves after a fiasco in their first showing in the tournament.. The four will fight it out for the two spot to the playoffs and a chance at the total of $40,000 that gets awarded weekly. If you want to read more about #HomeSweetHome and the tournament as a whole head over to our event page! c0ntact has participated in one week of #HomeSweetHome and it ended in a disaster. Two straight losses against Syman Gaming and forZe was all the team managed to accomplish that time around and we can be sure c0ntact wants revenge. In previous times the team has been a part of Flashpoint and ESL One: Road to Rio and even if the results aren’t the most attractive they have faced off against the best teams in the world, and done so respectably. With that said the team should have more than enough to make it far in #HomeSweetHome, but considering their current form things might just get tough once again. EspiranTo and ottoNd has been the best players of the team for a while, but the whole package needs to bring their best to make it far this week. Making the playoff is obviously step one, and we are not certain c0ntact will even manage that, surprisingly enough. FATE find themselves back in #HomeSweetHome again after winning against Wolsung, HellRaisers and AGF Esport in the qualifiers. Even if that’s a respectable performance it is hard to see the Bulgarians move on to the playoff from this group, where they have to face three high quality teams. Last time FATE played in the tournament was during the third week, which ended in two straight losses and a quick exit. On a positive note the team has done well in best of one games in BLAST Rising against tough opposition and that’s something they need to bring in their opening game against SMASH Esports, as a win there is a must if FATE are to find themselves in the top two. We do however believe that FATE is simply the weakest team and once again will fall short, but it has to be said their group draw is truly unfortunate. We have given Hard Legion praise week after week, and while they have ended up making the playoffs in three straight week, they have fallen short instantly in the quarterfinal every time. The two latest they had to face Heroic, which is a tough task, but Hard Legion has to find another gear to finally make it in #HomeSweetHome. Forester and rAge have shown why they are two big talents with a bright future, but the team as a whole still has more to prove. We still believe the team is ready to go for a real deep run and their chances to win this group are big as they face FATE in the first game, and as such they could finally get an easier opponent to kick the playoffs off. Group win into a run to the finals of the seventh week of #HomeSweetHome? We believe, but Hard Legion has to show their best face finally to make it a reality. SMASH are a true veteran of #HomeSweetHome, as they are set to enter their sixth run in the tournament this week. To many peoples surprise they have been in two grand finals, but they have earned it with solid improvements and signs of really working out as a team. The individuals are always stepping up for the team when needed as well. At points it has been the Estonian duo of fejtZ and shokz delivering, while lately disco doplan and grux has stepped up to the plate with amazing performances. It would be no surprise to see SMASH going for another deep run this week, but it won’t be easy in this stacked group and their opening game against c0ntact is a really close one. It could go either way, but SMASH has shown time after time that they are ready for a challenge. Four straight playoff run will turn into five, even if it won’t be easy.
