#HSH Week 8: Group D Preview
The last group of #HomeSweetHomes final week is upon us and as always we preview the teams. AGF Esport, Complexity Gaming, Hard Legion ...
#HomeSweetHome and its fourth week is nearing the end of the groupstage, but the last group still remains. AVEZ, Copenhagen Flames, Gambit Youngsters and Sprout will battle for the last two spots to the playoffs. All teams have previously competed in #HomeSweetHome, but are lacking any deep runs and mostly these teams have been knocked out in the groups. Copenhagen comes in as a favourite after showing good form in other tournaments, but how strong are the other teams? That’s the question we will try to answer below and make our final prediction for group D. If you want to read more about #HomeSweetHome and the tournament as a whole head over to our event page! AVEZ made their debut in #HomeSweetHome last week and it could have started better for this Polish squad. Two straight losses versus Sprout and Apeks was all AVEZ had time for and now the team is looking for revenge. In general the young talent KEi is the player to watch in this team, and if they are going to improve their track record both he and the rest of the team needs to step up. Group D is quite tough as all three opponents for AVEZ are solid teams who have a playoff spot as a minimum goal. If it wasn’t for a tough group draw AVEZ could have had some decent chances, but in this one, it is almost impossible to see AVEZ go through. Since the addition of Queenix this Danish team has surprised most people with great results in ESL One: Road to Rio, where they have faced teams of the highest caliber, like G2 Esports, FaZe Clan and mousesports. With 3 wins and 4 losses Copenhagen Flames just missed the playoffs, but when you consider what level of competition they faced the result is respectable and promises more for the future. Farlig and refrezh are the star players of the team and as long as the team doesn’t underperform heavily a playoff spot should be a walk in the park. Playing at their best level Copenhagen Flames could go on to win it all in the fourth week of #HomeSweetHome. This young squad with massive talents like supra and Ax1Le, but especially sh1ro has had a bad time in #HomeSweetHome this far, as they have failed to reach the playoffs twice in their two showings. However the youngsters of Gambit has shown a better side in LOOT.BET Season 6 where they have won 5 straight series against strong teams like BIG, Endpoint and forZe. Taking that into consideration things are looking up for the team and if they can finally show their real face in #HomeSweetHome they have a great chance to reach the playoffs. It is also obvious that these young guns can challenge anybody in the tournament when they have a good day, it just seems like the good ones are few and far between. One thing is for sure - we finally want to see these explosive players shine in #HomeSweetHome and more than anything we want sh1ro to show why he is one of the best talents in the world right now. Since the addition of snatchie Sprout have been up and down, just as one can expect with a roster change. Sprouts results in #HomeSweetHome overall this far is also a mixed bag with missing playoffs, getting knocked out in quarters and once in the semis. For the team to succeed it usually is down to faveN and dycha to perform some heroics and we don’t believe that story will change this week, however Sprout are in a tough spot where Copenhagen Flames are the clear favourite and Gambit Youngsters look to be on fire. We believe Sprout will miss out on the playoffs this week, but as they play Gambit Youngsters in the best of one opener, they at least get a chance to put themselves in a great spot if they can win that one.
